Capturing that all important ‘twinkle in the eye’ is what makes my art so popular. I have always had a passion for painting, particularly animals for my own pleasure and I’ve found that people really appreciate the way I focus on capturing the animal’s personality and character and really ‘bring them to life’. I took it up more seriously since taking voluntary redundancy from my job as a diamond valuer in 2008. Although not formally trained, I have learnt from two exceptionally talented local artists with very differing styles, who have given me real insight and showed me how to take my art to another level.
My art is mostly watercolour, acrylic and oils. Commissions are usually painted in acrylics or watercolour. There are also prints, cards mugs and other merchandise available.
I am fundraising for some animal charities that are close to my heart, particularly International Animal Rescue, to which I am very committed, and I enjoy painting for them. Profits from prints of the baby Orang Utan ‘Punk Baby’ all go to this charity as well as 10% of profits from ‘Big Brother’ and ‘Punk Sister’.
I hope you enjoy looking at my art.
These originals are painted in watercolour and pen. I have tried many different ways of painting, but this method seems to work the best for me. Therefore they are ‘one offs’ – if the original sells it is almost impossible to paint another one the same! There might be a similar one, but please bear this in mind: when they’re gone, they’re gone!
These prints are reproduced for me by Wraptious.com. They are gallery quality printed on 230 gram matt paper with 12 colour fade resistant inks. Individually packed on thick backing board and cello wrapped. If prints are not in stock they are available to order in sizes A4, A3, A2 & square (12″x12″). Due to certain lead times, back orders can take up to 3-4 weeks. Please note they do not include mounts.
I am adding more cards all the time, so if you see a print you like without a card then get in touch and I’ll see what I can do. There are many animals in the square range and a few others. The two rectangular cards are printed on textured paper like watercolour paper, they will be discontinued when sold out.
